Hey guys!

Another week, and another Fallen painted. This one has some pieces of loyalist Dark Angel armour to replace parts that sustained too much damage over the millennia:

I'll also be chipping away at the Predator seen below. I figured that I should take some pictures for a "before and after" comparison once the job is done! I should have taken some before pictures of the Night Lords I painted before I finished them too, since they were in pretty bad shape before I touched them up. In any case, the below pics should give y'all an idea of what my models look like before I fix them.

Anyway, before pics:

I think I'll be stripping the paint off of this Predator too, so I can add some grisly trophies to it or something. I've seen Rhino's with flayed Space Marines tied to the front of the tank, and it looked really good, so I should be able to draw inspiration from stuff like that!

It'll be equipped with a pair of Lascannons on the sides, and a twin-linked Lascannon on top. Should look cool!

See you next week!

Hey guys!

This week I managed to finish off my new Fallen Sorceror of Nurgle: Thanatos, the rust prince. I came across the name "Thanatos" on a random google search and it sounded cool. So I decided that since I've spent so much time painting this guy, I might as well name him too!

His backstory will probably involve something to do with him being a particularly old Fallen Angel. So old, that he simply could not have survived up until this point of his life without pledging fealty to Nurgle.

The Typhus Corrosion on his right hand is supposed to hint that he's either preparing a psychic power with that hand, or it's simply rotting away due to Nurgle's influence.

The upper half of this scythe actually broke off just after I finished painting him... Annoying, to say the least!

This is probably the best shot I have of him.

So aside from this guy, I've been toying with the idea of just how Fallen Angels would replace damaged armour over the millennia. I then remembered a certain 13th company that had to face the same problem...

And so, I've decided to paint parts of my next Fallen Angel with sections of his armour as Caliban green, to show that they scavenge parts from the dead of their hated brothers! Should look cool!

Until next week, good luck!

Hey guys!

Two models down this week, another Fallen and a Chaos Spawn to spice things up!

The Fallen is pretty much more of what you've all been seeing so far. That said, he does have a nice little cleaver strapped to his leg:

This Chaos Spawn reminds me of a dragon for some reason. Probably the "wings", horned head and almost orangey skin-colour... His arm is a warped mixture of flesh and steel, shaping into a sword. The mace-like ends of the tentacles have a similar painting scheme going on too:

I didn't get around to finishing off his base in time for pics to be posted, although it'll be done as soon as the glue dries up fully.

I'm pretty happy with how he turned out in the end! Spawn seem to be easy to paint, and when they give off a specific vibe (Like my good old dragon-buddy here), it just adds to their character and makes me appreciate them that much more.

Lastly, a sneak-peek at what will be next weeks offering! My first Fallen HQ, a Nurgle Sorceror:

You might have seen him before in a previous post, albeit with a power sword instead of the nice little scythe. I know it's more of a Death Guard thing, but I figured that it was far more fitting than a simple sword. That, and the sword bent a little while he was in my suitcase...

The scythe was made from a Warhammer Fantasy Marauder spears lower half and the upper half of a Chaos Warriors melee weapon. I think it suits him far better than the sword, which was really just tacked on to differentiate him from any loyalist Turmiels out there!

Anyway, until next week...

G'luck!

Hey guys!

Two weeks have gone by since the last update, but now I'm back in Ireland and finally have enough time to myself to finally get stuck into project Fallen.

I also got my hands on the Black Legion and Crimson Slaughter supplements, as well as the Chaos Daemons codex while over in America. I haven't really gotten into the Chaos Daemons codex much yet, but it's certainly a good bit different from any normal codex. Between Daemonic instability, random wargear and a table that changes the battlefield every turn, I think it sounds like a fun codex to play with. Between the two supplements, the Crimson Slaughter one has way better fluff. I found it very interesting to read, and it even convinced me to start up a mini Crimson Slaughter army!

I have a few ideas for other projects too, since compartmentalising makes painting such a big backlog of models a lot less daunting.

So we've got:

  • Project Fallen (That's the current one)
  • Project Chaos (Chaos Space Marines. I'll throw a party when this one is done!)
  • Project Fallout (Just the twenty or so Fallout models)
  • Project Daemon (I haven't got that many to get through, thank god!)
  • Project Crimson Slaughter (Any Chaos stuff from Dark Vengeance, plus a squad of possessed)
  • Project Reborn
  • Project Raptor
  • Project Cultist
  • Project ORKZ!
  • Project Plague
Fallen, Fallout, Daemon and Crimson Slaughter are self-explanatory and have a note beside them to explain what they are anyway, however...

  • Project reborn is where I use green stuff to 'Nurglify' some mini's that were over-zealously basecoated. I'll be replacing some of the pieces on the miniatures that are too smeared with spray to look in any way good. I figure I'll get around to this sometime later in this backlog.

  • Project Raptor will be where I take about ten of my old Assault Marines and "Raptorise" them into Raptors using green stuff! I'll be buying some new modelling tools form my local hobby store to sort these dudes out. I don't have a great deal of experience with green stuff yet, so I'm hoping that this project will get me going in that department!

  • Project Cultist is both where I paint all of my cultists, and also convert my Warhammer Fantasy Battle miniatures into cultists. I got the idea from the Grave Guard-style cultists I made before. Depending on how they look though, I might just use this as a project for painting all the cultists.

  • Project ORKZ! is just where I paint all of my Orks. They consist of the Assault on Black Reach set, a squad of Boyz and a squad of Grotz. This one will be tackled after everything else, since I'm not too pushed about my Orkz.

  • Project Plague will be where I convert some Warhammer Fantasy Warriors of Chaos into plague marines! They'll essentially look something like this guys conversion: linky, but with bolters and generally more chaotic/rusted looking.

Anyway, projects aside, I actually had a Noise Marine almost painted before I left, and had some free time to paint up another Fallen. Enjoy!

Hey guys!

Two weeks without an update! Unfortunately, I've been busy again lately, although I did get a miniature painted last week anyway.

Introducing, the Watcher in the Warp!

And of course, this weeks model, which I enjoyed painting quite a bit. The Fallen squad champion!

Admittedly, he does look a bit Iron Warrior-y in these images. But he does look a lot more like he fits the part in real life.

And everything so far:

See you next week!

Hey guys!

Two more Fallen painted now, and I've tried to make these dudes a bit more different from the first guy.

The first guy was actually the second model I painted, and the second was the third (overall). The first guy is a lot less rusty looking than the model in the previous post, but is more chipped. The following model took this a bit further with a lot more of the models armours' paint being chipped/scratched off.

I'm thinking that I'll combine the chipped effect with the "loads of rust" effect for my next model. I'd like to have a normal-ish looking model too, maybe with less/no visible battle damage for one of them.

The model I'm working on now is a Watcher in the Dark. He'll just act like a Spell/Combat Familiar for my HQ's. After that, some more tactical dudes!

Until next time!

Hey guys!

This first guy has a little too much rust/Typhus Corrosion on him for my tastes.
The guy I'm painting now is a lot more scratched up instead, although he does still have rusty parts here and there.

I am also aware that these updates are becoming erratic, so bear with me!

Enjoy!

Hey guys!

I've been reeeeeeeeeeeally busy lately because I'll be heading off abroad on Wednesday, so haven't had a tonne of time to update anything.

I do have a few image of my spawn though:

And I ALMOST got my Emperor's Children dude with a Sonic Blaster done. Y'see, other than painting my usual miniatures and getting ready to go off away for six weeks, I've been getting quite a bit of modelling done...

Modelling for my new Fallen Angels project that will be taking up the next six weeks! I figured that since I'll be away from home (And therefore its many distractions), I'll have far more time to dedicate to painting something new. And that something is going to be a Fallen Angels army, consisting of the Dark Angels from Dark Vengeance, Dark Angels from the Dark Vengeance painting set, Azrael, Asmodai and a Watcher in the Dark.

I haven't decided yet, but I think I might bring a squad of those new Raptors along too, just in case I run out of things to paint when I'm over in San Francisco (And I love the models too).

Anyway, first up is my Nurgle Sorceror! He'll be covered in rust, and his sword will be particularly haggard to hint that it's actually a Force Weapon, and not just a power sword:

I won't be showing off all of my models yet, since I actually still have to finish off a few pieces on the Terminators, and I still have other preparations to make for Wednesday.

I might update this blog again before the week is out if I get around to finishing the Emperor's Children model... We'll see!

If not, see you next week!
