Hey guys!

Unfortunately, there'll be no pictures today due to the misplacement of a very necessary charger cable for my sisters camera. Yeah, it's not even mine since I'd never actually use it for anything but taking these pictures...

Anyway, it was a VERY busy week so I didn't get a huge amount of painting done. I did have an old cultist conversion that I was going to post to make up for it, but a dead camera battery and missing cable put an end to that!

On my table this week, are several Vampire Counts Ghouls that I'll be painting up as Fallout Ghouls. I might set up some kind of diorama once they're all done, involving a group of survivors fighting off all eight of them. The first of my Emperor's Children has his right arm completely finished too, so he's getting there too!

As I don't have anything to show off today, I present instead the following links, since I noticed that a few people were looking at this blog today more than any other day, and I don't want to let anyone down. It seems like Sunday is becoming post day, or at least that's what folks are expecting, so why not!

Hey guys!

This week I've been pretty busy, but I did manage to get that Chaos Spawn out of the way, so I do have that to present for this week.

I figured that I should make it a weekly commitment to have something completed each week for this blog, so that:

  1. The blog is active.
  And:

 2. Progress is made on my considerable backlog of models.

So far it's been pretty easy to have something to update with each week, so I should be able to keep that going for some time.

HOPEFULLY, I run out of models to paint, at some point in the future...

A new backlog list would really help actually, so I might make one later on.

Anyway, Spawn!

I opted to use a regular-sized head for this Spawn, since that would make him look more human. And therefore terrifying.

Well, he is terrifyingly ugly at least...

I wanted to make his mere existence look painful, hence the blood. It makes it look like the tentacles are ripping out of his body, a la Resident Evil-style.

The pointed appendages on his back are poised to strike, which the blood alludes to.

Overall I think this guy actually looks like a monstrosity. He clearly looks tragic, and not at all like he wants to kill a bunch of people. He'd probably feel more like knitting with those pointy things.

So that wraps up this week, next on my plate are those Noise Marines.

I tried out some Hormagaunt Purple on one of them, but it really didn't work. Liche Purple looked far better, so that's what they'll all be getting.

Until next week, cya!

Hey guys!

It's the end of the week, and I've finally gotten my twentieth Night Lord highlighted and based. It's taken quite a while to get to this milestone, so I've decided to try out a few other models/paintjobs to celebrate.

In the end I opted to base-spray my Noise Marine and a Chaos Spawn, which will be the next models on my list to paint.

The Spawn is currently Work-In-Progress, so until then you'll have to put up with these two chaps!

In case you're wondering, the grenades are covering up an early attempt at removing purity seals from that dudes leg. It was a handy quick-fix!

A more elevated view to see the beakie helmet. I really liked how the helmet turned out, which was odd since I never considered myself a huge fan of them.

I've had a few ideas for Noise Marine paint schemes, one of which was to paint them as varying shades of greyscale. Kinda like dark grey all over with highlights of light grey and white on raised surfaces. I thought it was too muted to look like "perfection" though, so didn't roll with it. I don't like the original black and pink either, so that was out too.

I considered painting them as the Flawless Host too, before I saw the Purple Noise Champion on pg. 85 of the Chaos Codex. Without the tiger-print parts, it looks amazing! The painter must have used gloss to get that shine though, so they'll be my first glossed models! Awesome.

Anyway, that was my weekend. I'll leave you guys with an altered quote from the exorcism that my father thought up of that I found hilarious at the time:

"Your mother cooks socks in hell!"

See ya later on guys!

Hey guys!

I had a conversation today about this blog. It occurred to me when I described the url as "enchanted blue pot", that people might actually think that the name is derived form something other than an old pot of Games Workshop paint:

Hey kids, wanna buy some sprue?

But I digress...

It's been a busy weekend, so I only managed to get two models highlighted and based. I'm about halfway through a third though. My plan is to paint a different model, or set of models, for every five of these Night Lords that I finish off.

I'm currently on my nineteenth, so once the following model is finished, I get to paint something else!

I'll either paint some more Fallout-style ghouls, or those Noise marines I made a while ago. I haven't decided yet.

I'm gonna get to those converted Night Lords at some point too, but I'm not too worried about when they get finished. I also have the contents of the Dark Vengeance set to get through, which I'll be painting as Night Lords and Fallen Dark Angels.

The story behind my Night Lords army is that it contains elements of both a chaotic, and traditional Night Lords nature. So there are chaos-aligned Night Lords and the "purist" types, like Talos from the Night Lords trilogy, in it.

Where my army differs from, say, a Word Bearer's chaotic elements is that none of my Night Lords are aligned with a particular god. The source of chaos stems from the Raptor cult's presence in my army.

Some may openly worship this minor god  - Dark Vengeance dudes, Terminators with spikes/horns, the Raptors themselves, Obliterators... These are essentially the chaotic element that let me explain away why exactly there's a Daemon prince/engine/Possessed Marines in a Night Lords army.

Some may despise it - The Night Lords with Night Lords helmets or those who wear more current Space Marine armour, mixed with Chaos armour. Night Lords wearing loyalist Space Marine Terminator armour fall under this category too. It's not uncommon for these guys to wear defiled Chaos-aligned armour, much like how Talos defiled the imperial eagle from his armour. See the Lightning Claw Night Lord for an example of this.

And some may simply tolerate it - Night Lords wearing mainly Chaos armour. Nothing as extreme as a full-body bone structure growing over their armour like the Dark Vengeance Chosen, but they'll wear armour with chaos "arrows" on it to replace their own. They'll wear horns on their armour too, which is a big difference between them and the previous category.

Anyway, on to the progress pics!

The guys below I would classify as being "tolerators". The middle-ground guys, that do what they can to tear down the imperium, and don't care how:

I had a thought earlier today about how good chaos armour might look with all of the pointed chaos bits and horns cut off. I might try to convert another Night Lord squad to look like they simply have really old armour that isn't covered in chaos stuff.

Anyway, G'LUCK!
