Hey guys!

I've been reeeeeeeeeeeally busy lately because I'll be heading off abroad on Wednesday, so haven't had a tonne of time to update anything.

I do have a few image of my spawn though:

And I ALMOST got my Emperor's Children dude with a Sonic Blaster done. Y'see, other than painting my usual miniatures and getting ready to go off away for six weeks, I've been getting quite a bit of modelling done...

Modelling for my new Fallen Angels project that will be taking up the next six weeks! I figured that since I'll be away from home (And therefore its many distractions), I'll have far more time to dedicate to painting something new. And that something is going to be a Fallen Angels army, consisting of the Dark Angels from Dark Vengeance, Dark Angels from the Dark Vengeance painting set, Azrael, Asmodai and a Watcher in the Dark.

I haven't decided yet, but I think I might bring a squad of those new Raptors along too, just in case I run out of things to paint when I'm over in San Francisco (And I love the models too).

Anyway, first up is my Nurgle Sorceror! He'll be covered in rust, and his sword will be particularly haggard to hint that it's actually a Force Weapon, and not just a power sword:

I won't be showing off all of my models yet, since I actually still have to finish off a few pieces on the Terminators, and I still have other preparations to make for Wednesday.

I might update this blog again before the week is out if I get around to finishing the Emperor's Children model... We'll see!

If not, see you next week!

Hey guys!

Unfortunately, I do not have access to a camera this week, so cannot provide a picture of my new Chaos Spawn!

On the other hand, I was also working on another Emperor's Children guy, which I can now finish off for next week and take a picture of it for next Sunday.

Speaking on Sunday's I've decided to not guarantee that this blog will be updated on Sundays, as I don't actually need a full week to get an infantry model painted. However, when I'm painting my tanks it's going to take a lot longer to get anything finished, so a week is hardly going to be enough time for them at all.

In other words, unless I'm doing infantry or Spawn, the Sunday update was not going to be feasible for every single Sunday.

I can certainly post what I get done each week, but I can't promise a freshly-painted tank every Sunday unfortunately! That, and cameras keep going missing on me.

I was also going to upload a fan-made Night Lords codex supplement that I made to make up for the lack of images this week too, but blogger won't let me do that, so if anyone has a place that I can upload it, let me know!

Until next week, good luck!

Hey guys!

I know this entry is technically up on Monday, but I haven't gone to sleep yet, so I can claim a moral victory.. or something.

 Models!

Anyway, I got my Blastmaster guy done for this week. I call him "Devil Head" now...

Weaponless; to show off the work "under the hood", so to speak.

I really like how this guy turned out. Saving that head from the possessed pack really helped this dude shine. I used to horde all of the good bitz, but never actually used them. So now that I'm going all-out with my modelling and painting, I get satisfactory results!

I've just put another Chaos Spawn on the table, so should have something bigger, uglier and far stupid-er to show y'all next weekend.

Depending on how things turn out, I might also have a sneak-peek at what I'll be working on for all of April too... Hint hint, it's a completely side-tracked project. But if you've been paying attention to any of my latest posts on W-ired, you might figure it out!

Until next week, good luck!

Hey guys!

I got my first Noise Champion completely finished today, and am delighted with the results!
And with this model, my count of finished chaos models jumps to 52!

The additional details from his backpack, torso and sword-arm were what really took the majority of my time up. It took far more time than it usually would, but it paid off in the end since I'm delighted with how he turned out.
Front view.

Side view, with extra bolt pistol highlights.

Back view, since the doom siren took a lot of effort to finish.

Next, I plan on having a go at the other five members of this guys squad. I think I'll start with the Blastmaster guy who has a possessed head first, then move onto my Sonic Blaster guy, before finishing up with the converted Sonic Blaster trio.

Until next week, g'luck!

Hey guys!

So I decided to get a model count going, and ended up with a grand total of 941 miniatures. Before we begin, I should mention that some miniatures I have listed as "painted" and others as "finished". Finished models are 100% done, while painted models either simply have everything on them painted or I have planned to give them a touch-up at some point. They aren't based or highlighted, in other words. Finished models tend to be, if they can be highlighted.

Tank models and monstrous creatures also only count as a single model for the sake of not making this too complicated to understand.

I should also mention that the painted category includes all finished models, because it can't be finished without being painted (As that would just be silly). So if I have ten models and three are painted, but only two are finished, that's 50% of those models painted, but only 20% are finished. Does that make sense? If not, let me know and I'll try to explain further in the comments.

Anyhoo, I did some calculations, and discovered that out of the following armies/categories:

  • Chaos Space Marines
  • Daemons of Chaos
  • Dark Vengeance
  • Fallout
  • Space Marines/Dark Angels
  • Warriors of Chaos
  • Orks
  • Miscellaneous
I  have 542 miniatures. Out of these, I have 152 (28.04%) painted and 80 (14.76%) finished.

These are the only categories/armies that I plan on eventually painting at some point, although not all of them are actually my top priority at the moment. For example, most of the Fantasy stuff is covered in glue, or is an army that I was never interested in, in the first place. The plastic Dark Elves are coated in glue and I never liked the Empire or Orcs (I got the starter set back when I was thirteen).

The High Elves were given to me from my old Art teacher when an old friend of mine disappeared from town and moved away without notice. He had left the models and I had no way of contacting him unfortunately. I think he's in the British army now, but I digress...

The Tyranids don't interest me (I got them with the Battle for Macragge) and I hadn't planned on doing anything with Zombicide when I got it anyway. I have no interest in the Eldar models, other than painting them as Fallout power-armour guys/gals.

Anyway, that's my excuse for most of the excluded stuff! The only two other "lower priority" categories are the Orks and Miscellaneous category because I'm not as interested in them as I am in the rest.

So if we look at the models that I AM interested in(In other words, excluding the Orks and Miscellaneous categories), we have 453 models.

128 (28.25%) of these are painted, and 76 (16.77%) are finished. Woo!

If we drill down even further to my favourite army of all time (and my absolutely main priority), the Chaos Space Marines,  we have 237 models.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand... I thought I had this calculated earlier, but it seems that I didn't. I have to catch a lift in a few minutes, so I'll just edit this again later!

Edit: It's later!

So we have 237 models, 96 of which are at least painted. That's 40.5% which is quite good considering that they're my main target when it comes to getting everything painted.

I also have 51 models that are finished, which is 21.51% of the entire Chaos Space Marine army.

I think I'll copy Chickenbane's idea and have a "current percentage" type section somewhere in the list to the right of these posts too.

Anyhoo, see you Sunday!

G'luck!

Monday, 3 March 2014

I know I said I'd append this list to the last post, but it's quite long so another post was absolutely necessary. I have also separated my Chaos Space Marines section into its Force Organisation Slots, to make it more readable.

I have also aligned everything to the left, because then the model count for each line lines up perfectly. So don't get used to not having everything centered like this lovely bit of text you're reading right now. If a model is marked as "Finished", then it has been painted and based. If it is marked as "painted", then it has been painted, but not based. If a model is marked as "early", then it was painted a long time ago and might be repainted at some point when I have everything else out of the way (Many years down the line!).

I'm going to count up the total number of models listed here at some point, but rest assured that I have no intention of painting everything listed here. Most of the plastic Dark Elf, Empire and Orc stuff is covered in glue from over a decade ago when I first began the hobby, and wouldn't be worth my time painting/fixing. I simply included everything here so that I had a single resource to count my progress as time goes on.

I plan on finished all of the following though:

Chaos Space Marines
Space Marines (As converted Chaos Space Marines)
Daemons
Fallout
Dark Vengeance
Maybe some scenery and miscellaneous stuff.

Hey guys!

It's been a productive (albeit distracted) week, as I got a bunch of models finished this week, but didn't touch any of the Noise Marines I was supposed to.

If anyone here followed my thread on Wargaming Ireland, they might remember the Warhammer Ghouls that I had painted up to be Fallout Ghouls.

I had two painted at the time, then painted another and forgot about them. They weren't really finished (One based, but the base wasn't highlighted. The others weren't based at all, you get the idea.), so I had another crack at them and came up with THIS:

Haha, more blood... I am so creative.
I basically finished them and went back over them with that new technical paint from GW. It really makes a model pop.

I then had the great idea to do another:

And he looked grand, so I did another!

And another...

You get the idea.

In the end, I became the happy owner of eight Fallout Ghouls that I could also run as plague zombies for my Chaos army if I really wanted to. See the group shot below for the efforts of my labour.

So I'd like to think that I made up for last weeks no-show with this week!

I also plan on doing another count of the entirety of my model collection again, so I can keep track of my progress and see just how much further I have to go. I'll be editing this post with the list, so look forward to that!

G'luck and see you next week!
